Kate Grafton, principal lecturer in physiotherapy at Leeds Beckett University, received a National Teaching Fellowship at an awards ceremony in London on 25 January.

She was the only physiotherapist to be recognised among a group of 55 new teaching fellows, who will now work to enhance learning and teaching in their institutions.

Successful nominees were selectedon the basis of having demonstrated three criteria: individual excellence, raising the profile of excellence and developing excellence.

Mrs Grafton told Frontline: ‘The university and my students nominated me, so it feels really special.

‘It comes with £5,000 to spend on teaching-related activities, which I can use to benefit my students or for professional development.’
