CSP professional advisers Claire Fordham and Jean Byrne together with Northern Ireland policy and public affairs officer Tom Sullivan recently toured the country's five NHS trusts to speak with physiotherapy support workers.
A total of 80 support workers joined Claire, Jean and Tom in a series of six meetings and shared their experiences of access to training education and career development.
They also shared their thoughts on how access to continuing professional development and career progression could be improved for support workers in Northern Ireland.
Transforming opportunities
These engagement events will inform a report that the CSP is compiling in order to make recommendations to the Department of Health in Northern Ireland.
It is hoped that recommendations will be taken forward to transform opportunities for development and career progression for support workers.
