The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is hosting six local meetings across Northern Ireland this month, in order to reach and engage with as many support workers as possible.
The CSP will use the meetings to gather information and feedback from support workers about the current opportunities, barriers to, and aspirations for training, education and career development for physiotherapy support workers in their trusts.
This will help the CSP to develop a credible set of recommendations for the growth and development of the physiotherapy support workforce in Northern Ireland.
The CSP will also report on the findings of a recent survey that was completed by support workers and heads of service in May this year. They will explain how similar work has been conducted in the rest of the UK, and discuss what the possibilities could be for support staff in Northern Ireland, including a discussion about apprenticeships.
