This toolkit provides a wealth of resources to help physiotherapy education providers design and deliver simulation-based learning (SBL) within their programmes
In 2021 the CSP commissioned the University of Hertfordshire to undertake a project that identified the KNOWledge, BEhaviours and Skills (KNOWBEST) required of the modern physiotherapy graduate, including the future role of practice- based learning.
As a result of the KNOWBEST project, the CSP commissioned the University of Hertfordshire to develop a simulation toolkit for pre-registration physiotherapy education. This project was led by Dr Nicola Heneghan, Senior Research Fellow at the Musculoskeletal Research Unit, University of Hertfordshire.
The simulation toolkit is designed and constructed by simulation-based learning experts and draws on educational theory, profession-specific empirical evidence, best practice guidelines and standards as well as clinical and academic expertise.
The toolkit is a physiotherapy profession-specific resource which is applicable whether you are new to SBL or if you wish to extend your knowledge or use of SBL. In addition, the tool kit is designed to help physiotherapy education providers develop and deliver SBL within their programmes.
This project has been funded by Health Education England, now part of NHS England.
