5 reasons to study this programme at the University of Bradford
- Our MPhysiotherapy (Sports and Exercise Medicine) programme provides a unique opportunity for you gain core physiotherapy skills and knowledge, along with specialist knowledge relating to physiotherapy practice in sports, plus advanced research skills.
- The MPhysiotherapy programme is taught on the small, friendly main university campus. You will have access to purpose-built facilities such as a movement laboratory, simulation suites, a tech-house and our student-led physiotherapy clinic. The clinic houses state of the art equipment that replicates equipment used in elite sport to enhance performance.
- You will be taught by staff who have worked in elite sport, along with staff who come from a variety of clinical backgrounds, reflecting the broad range of clinical settings and client groups that physiotherapists work within. Experts by Experience frequently support teaching to enable you to understand a patient’s perspective and to enable you to develop into empathetic practitioners.
- 1000 hours of clinical placement are embedded into the programme. You will have a placement in year 1 under the supervision of programme staff, in the safe learning environment of our student-led clinic. External placements in the local area begin in year 2, and you will complete at least one placement within a sporting environment.
- Our graduates are well-respected, and a consistently high percentage find employment or go onto further study within six months. Recent MPhysiotherapy graduates have secured their first physiotherapy posts within sports clubs although some have chosen to work in other settings such as the NHS or private healthcare.
