Our physiotherapy degree aims to prepare students in all areas of theory and practice fundamental to the needs of a newly qualified physiotherapist. We are committed to developing lifelong learners with the skills to access and use evidence to support their clinical practice.
About us
The Division of Physiotherapy at Nottingham is committed to excellence in both teaching and research, and aims to promote an environment where you can flourish personally, academically and professionally, with the ultimate goal of becoming a practising physiotherapist.
We are well known for our physiotherapy programme, not only is it one of the most popular courses at Nottingham, but also an incredibly popular place to study physiotherapy. We believe that this popularity is based on our reputation for providing education within a supportive and nurturing environment, which not only develops the individual, but produces first-class physiotherapists.
Strengths of our courses include the breadth of practice based experiences and the element of choice throughout the courses. The support and encouragement we offer has helped over 95% of our graduates from the last three years obtain either a first class or upper second class honours degree.
About the faculty
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham draws together the activity of four separate schools to deliver world-leading research and inspirational teaching for tomorrow's scientists, doctors, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and vets.
Overall we teach around 6,000 undergraduate and 900 postgraduate taught students, with our courses being recognised for their innovative and exemplary teaching. Our wide ranging research covers areas from basic sciences to clinical translational research in which we currently supervise 800 postgraduate research students and undertake research of £43m per annum.
