CSP Fellowships recognise exceptional contribution to, and impact on, the physiotherapy profession over at least 10 years.
Submission for Fellowships is by nomination or self-nomination.
- Fellowship (FCSP) – For CSP members who are physiotherapists with at least 10 consecutive years of membership.
- Honorary Fellowship (FCSP Hon) – For non-physiotherapist CSP members with at least 10 consecutive years of membership or non-members who have significantly contributed to the profession over at least 10 years.
Award criteria
1. Contribution to advancing the profession
- Furthering CSP’s aims and physiotherapy practice
- Innovation and development of new concepts
- Scale and impact of contributions
2. Impact on the profession
- Breadth and depth of influence beyond local settings
- Influence on strategy, thinking, and practice
- Measurable outcomes of the candidate's work
Nomination requirements
- Candidate details and details of three nominators/referees.
- Candidate CV (max six pages)
- Contribution and impact form (CIF) that provides evidence that the candidate meets the award criteria
- Optional: Up to three supporting statements from people who must not be nominators/referees
- Optional equity, diversity, and belonging (EDB) monitoring form
What makes a strong application?
- Clear, evidence-based statements of impact
- Focus on quality over quantity—avoid long narratives
- Use of measurable outcomes to demonstrate influence
- Referees with firsthand knowledge of contributions
Applications are reviewed by the Professional Awards Panel and judged against a scoring matrix. Fellowships and Honorary Fellowships are awarded by CSP Council, in accordance with the Royal Charter, by-laws and regulations.
