Overview;

This study day is aimed at all grades of allied health professional who wish to increase their knowledge and skills in Parkinson’s intervention. The course is especially relevant for health professionals who currently have limited knowledge of Parkinson's and its management. The day covers a multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients. Each session will be led by a clinical specialist in the field of Parkinson’s.

Registration requirement: This course is designed for therapists with limited experience in Parkinson’s and who are looking to develop their understanding and skillset

 

Key Learning Outcomes;

  • Increase understanding of aetiology, pathology, signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s.
  • Understand the main drug options for the management of motor symptoms in Parkinson’s
  • To gain knowledge of the best practice and current evidence- based therapy management of Parkinson’s for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
  • Awareness of use of cues and strategies in Parkinson’s management
