The CSP North East Regional Network invited CSP members to step away for an evening and spend some time thinking about how they could make your service more accessible at a free webinar which provided insight, advice and inspiration on health inequalities.

The webinar outlined what health inequalities are and specific challenges and opportunities in the North East. Delegates learnt about how health inequalities impact clinical practice, service delivery and the local community.

  • Jon Quine, Health Inequalities lead at North East and North Cumbria ICB and Tanya Coates, community physiotherapy North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and AHP fellow at North East and North Cumbria ICB, co-presented and set the scene on what health inequalities are including North East regionally specific health inequalities with real life examples to demonstrate the role that physiotherapy staff can play in tackling health inequalities
  • Esther Carr, senior physiotherapist and Waiting Well lead, South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, shared information on a pre-operative health and wellbeing programme designed to reduce health inequalities and optimise people for surgery
