CSP members from across Wales descended on Cardiff this week for the CSP’s annual conference.
This year’s event, which was held at the Marriott Hotel in the Welsh capital, saw leading physiotherapists from Wales and the UK, share insights on the profession, the latest development in specialist areas and ways in which members can advance their practice by using their influence.
There was an early focus on the value of data to inform decision making and make the case to health leaders about the value of physiotherapy to patients and the whole health service.
The CSP was also pleased to welcome Ruth Crowder, chief Allied Health Professions adviser for the Welsh Government, to the conference, where she gave a keynote address.
Commenting on the value of the conference, she told delegates:
It’s a really exciting and important opportunity to hear and learn some of the really exciting innovations that physios are undertaking, changing their services, [and] some of the research they have been doing to evidence the kind of work that we need to develop and expand in order to deliver the best outcomes for people
During her keynote speech, Ruth also talked about her vision for how to deliver sustainable health services in Wales and the transformation that will involve.
The CSP is holding the next stage of its annual conference series in Birmingham next week.
