Make the most of membership throughout your studies

Whether it’s through making use of CPD opportunities, building your own personal network of physios or taking on a role that will help you to develop new skills. We’ve outlined just a few ways you could make the most of your membership whilst you study.

1st year

  • Join the CSP in your first year and receive your choice of a free physiotherapy pocketbook worth over £20.
  • Become a CSP student rep for your course. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with a national network of students, develop loads of skills for your CV and even earn £10 for every new member you refer.
  • Attend the CSP student conference virtually on 24 October. It’s completely free for members and the day is packed with learning, discussions and debates.

    2nd year

    • Use the CSP’s eportfolio tool and templates to record your achievements and reflections from placement. It will make it much easier to draw on your experience for job applications at the end of your course.
    • Need to access certain physio text books? The Discovery platform has thousands of physio titles available to download or read-online for free. We even have specialist librarians who can help you find what you need.
    • The CSP’s professional liability insurance provides up to £10m of cover whilst on placement or volunteering at events. It also covers you if you’re an associate student working as a part-time support worker. (T&Cs apply).

    Get Chartered

    Final year

    • If you ever need advice during your placements, we’re here for you. Our professional advice team is run by expert advisors with various backgrounds in physiotherapy. They are on hand Mon- Fri to support you with any professional or practice questions such as scope, standards and record-keeping.
    • Visit our online graduate hub for guidance and advice on applying for your first job and entering the world of work. We’ll also send you a helpful handbook in the post and often run free webinars to support you too.

      Graduation

      • The moment you’ve been working towards has finally arrived, but the support doesn’t stop here!
      • When your course finishes, we’ll automatically transfer you to graduate affiliate membership. This is a free category of membership that you can keep for up to 12 months, until you get your HCPC registration and land your first job.
      • When you’re ready to upgrade to chartered, we’ll also give you three months of chartered membership for free (saving you over £100).
