Innovative Programme. Scenario based learning is used to enhance student engagement and develop autonomy. Research and Leadership skillsare considered important for the new workforce so specific attention is paid to these alongside clinical skills.
Experienced Teaching Team. The staff come from a wide variety of physiotherapy specialities and are engaged in research or continue to work clinically. The University maintained Gold in the Teaching and Excellence Framework 2020-21.
Student Support. Teaching groups are small to enable a collaborative and supportive learning culture. Students are supported by both a dedicated personal tutor and a practice placement tutor. There are a range of support services including wellbeing, academic support, accommodation and childcare.
Practice Placements. We have established strong links with specialist clinical practice educators to provide seven varied clinical practice placements, starting in the first semester of year 1. This ensures students have an early opportunity to get hands on practice.
Facilities are varied and state of the art including 24/7 library and computing facilities, specialist labs and equipment ensuring students can practise assessment and treatment skills prior to practice placement.
