Have your say on NHS pay in Scotland - CSP opens consultation ballot

The offer from the government followed an intense period of negotiations with the health unions.

It would mean the majority of staff would receive a pay rise of at least four per cent, and it would be backdated to 1 December 2020.

The CSP believes this offer is the best that can be achieved through negotiation.

The offer for staff is:

• bands 1-4; a flat uplift of £1,009
• bands 5-7; a four per cent uplift
• bands 8a to 8C; a two per cent uplift
• bands 8d-9; a flat uplift of £800

All members in Scotland will receive an email with a link to an online vote*.  Voting opened today and will close at midday on 7 May.

Elaine Sparkes, assistant director of employment relations and unions services, said: ‘It is crucial that all members employed in the NHS in Scotland have their say by taking part in the vote.

This will give us a clear indication of members’ views to take forward to the meeting of all health unions on 12 May when the final outcome is likely to be decided

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland the Pay Review Body process is still on-going, with a recommendation on NHS pay expected in the summer.
