The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course enables you to develop the knowledge and skills to become a safe, competent and effective physiotherapy practitioner.Upon successful completion of the course you can apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council to practice as a physiotherapist.
Our physiotherapy programme will allow you to study a range of subjects that provide the foundations of effective physiotherapy practice.
At its core are the biological, physical, clinical and behavioural sciences. Together with the fundamentals of the therapeutic process such as physical assessment skills and clinical reasoning, and a repertoire of safe, effective prevention and treatment skills, you will be trained to meet the needs of people of all ages.
You will also explore multifaceted aspects of public health, as well as develop vital research and clinical skills.
During the course, you will have the opportunity to participate in physiotherapy practice, under the supervision of a physiotherapist, in a variety of settings.
All theory is delivered at our friendly Walsall Campus for classroom study.
Entry requirements
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C+/4 (or equivalent) which must include an English-based subject, Mathematics and a Science. Equivalent qualifications include Key Skills level 2; Learn Direct Level 2 and Functional Skills Level 2. Sciences at GCSE could include Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Education.
Please note we do NOT accept GCSE Short Courses or GCSE Equivalence Tests from other institutions or organisations.

A Levels - BBB from three A Levels including a Science subject e.g. Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Education. Excluding General Studies
BTEC L3 Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge L3 Technical Extended Diploma - grades DDM in a Science-based subject such as Sport and Exercise Science, Health Science or Applied Science.
Access to Higher Education Diploma Full Award (60 credits) of which a minimum of 45 credits must be at Level 3 with at least 30 of these Level 3 credits at Merit or Distinction. At least 15 Level 3 credits must be in a Biological Science related subject. You are also required to have achieved a minimum of five GCSEs (including English, Maths and a Science-based subject) at grade C+/4 or equivalent.
All offers to be subject to and satisfactory health and Criminal convictions (DBS) checks.
In addition to the above entry requirements all shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a numeracy and literacy test; a group-based task and a face to face interview. There is an expectation that applicants will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the physiotherapy role and it is recommended that you gain insight into the breadth of Physiotherapy practice through relevant work experience prior to the interview. Values consistent with the NHS constitution will be sought from applicants during the selection process.
