The Department of Health and Social Care has issued guidance on eligibility criteria for non-NHS providers to access funding for the three-year pay deal agreed for directly employed NHS staff in England.
The terms and conditions of service of staff delivering NHS services must be identical to those set out in the NHS terms and conditions of service handbook and the Agenda for Change (AfC) contract applying to staff must be 'dynamic': that is, incorporate all new or amended terms agreed by the NHS Staff Council. The services provided must also be directly commissioned.
The funding calculation for 2018/2019 will be based on staff in post and bank staff up to 31/03/2018 and will not include vacancies.
Claire Sullivan, director, CSP employment relations and union services, said: ‘The guidance on pay funding for non-NHS providers is good news for employers and staff in social enterprises delivering NHS services in England, and for other eligible organisations.
‘However, we recognize there are other groups of CSP members in the not-for-profit sector delivering NHS services who will not benefit from this government funding as they do not meet the criteria.
‘So we would welcome any opportunities to work with employers and physio staff to help secure fair pay for CSP members wherever they work.’
The organisations will need to apply for the funding by completing a pro-forma, according to the guidance documents.
