Amanda Hensman-Crook will use her week in control of @NHS to promote physiotherapy and CSP resources

Early on Monday 16 July, she will start a week of tweets from the account, set up by NHS England to celebrate the health service through the stories of its staff and patients.

Ms Hensman-Crook, a musculoskeletal physio at Windermere Health Centre, said it would be a great opportunity to explain and promote first contact physio and raise the profile of the profession.

‘During the week, I will be able to demonstrate that first contact physiotherapy, as a frontline service working alongside GPs as advanced practitioners at the top of our licence, creates capacity for doctors, reduces investigations and prescribing costs,’ she said.

Other topics for the week are likely to include top tips for preventing falls and back pain.

She is planning to use a range of CSP materials in her tweets to support her messages. The CSP’s falls prevention guides, and Rehab Matters and Love Activity, Hate Exercise? videos are likely to be among them.
