The consensus statement was developed by member organisations of the National Falls Prevention Coordination Group (NFPCG), with Agile, the older people’s physiotherapy network, representing the CSP.

It aimed to address the need for a unified approach among the different professions and providers carrying out falls and fracture prevention activities.

CSP professional adviser Priya Dasoju told Frontline that the resource pack outlines interventions and approaches that it recommends commissioners and strategic leads in local areas consider.

‘The consensus statement and the resource pack are essential for professionals who are involved in the prevention of falls and fractures as these tools aim to develop skills and knowledge and support professional practice,’ she said.

‘It is also important for physiotherapists who are looking for effective commissioning support and provision in this area.’
