NHS staff in Scotland will get a three per cent pay rise this year, the Scottish Government has confirmed.
It is expected that staff on Agenda For Change contracts will receive the 3 per cent in July, backdated to April.
For staff earning above £80,000 there will be a slightly lower increase but they will receive £1,600 flat rate increase.
The government had previously pledged the pay rise, which will take place as a payment ‘on account’, while talks over a longer-term three-year proposal continue with health unions, including the CSP.
If a three-year proposal is agreed then the 3 per cent already paid this year will be taken into account in any final deal.
Claire Sullivan, CSP director of employment relations and union services, said:
‘We welcome the Scottish Government’s decision to honour its commitment for staff this year.
‘Physiotherapy staff are at the forefront of much of the important transformation taking place in the NHS in Scotland and deserve to be rewarded fairly for their contribution.
‘We remain committed to securing the best possible deal for members out of the ongoing negotiations for future years and will consult fully when proposals are put forward.’
